M O D I F I C A T I O N S : ELECTRICS - the DEI530T module

Sander B. tells us that it is all based on some very easy rules. Let's take the electric windows, both connections of the motor are connected with +12V. There are two shifting switches in the switch. One of them is used to bring the window up, the other one is used to bring it down. They will be activated each on their own, never on the same time. If such a switch gets pressed down, the P contact (midcontact) of the +12V switches to the mass.

The mass is needed to drive the DEI-unit. So this must be step 1: connecting 4 masses to the P-contacts. Herefor you wil cut the wires to the motors. Make a +12V connection to the DEI-unit. Connect 3 masses to the chassis with some nice clips. At this moment the 'smartwindows' are allready active. Turn every jumper in the off state, except the very last one, as we are switching negative.

Next will be the interface cable with the alarm ECU. Fabrice told Sander that he will need to look for the orange/black wire for this functionality.

Getting power from the fusebox under the bonnet.

... and using a fuse (note: the other cable is used for the amp)

Getting the 3 masses behind the radio headunit.

The DEI-unit will perfectly fit in the passengers airbag compartment, if there no airbag fitted.

Same trick for the righthand side motor.

The DEI-unit and a Nokia unit, used for the Handsfree kit, nicely fitted. (top quality)
