Official Recall Number: A056 Seat belt escutcheon replacement October 1998
Affects all MGF's from 1998 and before.
There's a chance that the webbing of the righthand seat belt gets snagged in the slot of the escutcheon (located at the seat, in the T-bar). In some cases this could result in a damaged or broken seatbelt.

Official Recall Number: Cam bolt torque failure November 1998
Affects all VVC MGF's from 1998 and before. All affected VVCs had the torque checked during a service.
The cam-bolt on VVC engines had not been tightened to the correct torque. This could result in the cam bolt could work loose and fail, either exerting excess strain and shearing the locating roll pin or the shearing the cam bolt itself, secondary to vibration and chaffing. This results in the valves striking the pistons causing extensive damage to the cylinder head, pistons and potentially the bottom end of the engine.

Official Recall Number: A169 Seat belt pre-tensioner cable gets worn December 2001
Affects MGF's with a VIN number between: 1D522572 and 1D533176 (sept 2000 - sept 2001).
The seat belt pre-tensioner cable behind the left hand closing panel of the centre console was found to be chaffing against the body work. The potential risk is that the protective sleeve of the cable would wear and cause the circuit to short, firing the pre-tensioner unintentionally.

Official Recall Number: A180 Suspension bolt failure February 2003
Affects MGTF's.
One of the bolts could have the wrong torque setting. The bolt is used to attach the damper to the upper suspension arm. If the bolt is 'tightened' in the wrong state, it can get broken.
Checking would take 15-30 minutes, while repairing a faulty bolt situation could ask for more than 1 hour.
